ANDREW SULLIVAN

Andrew Sullivan is Studio Director for MFLA and brings over 30 years of experience to his role in overseeing the development and execution of the studio's work.  He has designed and completed an extensive range of project types, from intimate gardens to campuses, parks and plazas. His work is rooted in the belief that beautiful design and environmentally sensitive creation of place contribute to healthy and prosperous environments.

 Andrew’s experience includes a broad spectrum of project scales: from urban design and master planning to the detailed design and construction of large public spaces to small private gardens. Andrew has successfully managed and led large multi-faceted teams to deliver complex and layered projects for diverse user groups. Andrew is extremely adept with projects of a significant scale while addressing multiple stakeholders. His work is collaborative and transparent, which build consensus, improves project flow and overall design to ensures success.

His process is site-specific, collaborative, and innovative. Through active listening, he can resolve project challenges and develop designs that respond to each site in a unique and genuine way. He seeks to create human-scaled experiences, regardless of the project size. His work explores people’s relationship to nature and fosters a connection between the built and natural environments. By creating engaging spaces, Andrew’s approach promotes a lasting and evolving connection between people and the places they live.
